photographic bodyscapes
In the fall of last year I took advantage of the last sunny days and developed my new series “photographic bodyscapes”. It is the logical continuation of my large work cycle of the last few years, in which I used cyanotype to deal with the themes of transience, flow and “panta rhei” in a complex way.
In my “photographic bodyscapes” the photographic impression of my body merges with the traces of the water from the Danube. Abstract and at the same time very direct and pure, powerful images of myself were created. The duration of the exposure time of around 20 minutes was also physically like a small feat of strength. Trying not to move as much as possible, I remained in an increasingly uncomfortable position on the light-sensitive paper. I became one with the image, the material, the photographic process. To me, these “photographic relics” seem sculptural and at the same time very fragile and visually create a pulsating field of tension.
